Newman's Own Organic Pet Sampler Review and Giveaway

If you recall recently I posted a review and giveaway for Newman's Own Organics. Quite a few of you actually commented about the pet products and were showing interest! Well guess what! They have a pet sampler!
Dexter showed way more interest in this particular box than the previous one I received  from Newman's Own Organics, and for that, I am glad!
Dex is picky when it comes to crunchy foods and treats but as soon as you put something new in front of him he will sniff the scent right out of it and then lick it across the floor or try to swallow it whole if he can. You can always tell he likes something when he gets the crazed look in his eyes.
Snack Sticks-I made the mistake of allowing this to be the first thing I opened for him. This is also now the only thing he wants to eat! I love that these don't smell horrible or really much like anything at all. I love that they aren't greasy like a popular brand on the market right now and I love that Dex loves them!  The biggest issue is he loves them so much he doesn't want to bother with chewing so I have to break it into to small pieces or he tries to swallow it whole. You can see by his face how much he enjoys them though, and every time he wants one he walks over to the corner where they are, paws the bag then stares at me until I cave. I'm happy to oblige!

Premium Adult Dog Food- Dexter is usually not a fan of change when it comes to his dog food. It's a struggle to get him to eat if he decides he dislikes something I just bought for him. I decided to just go ahead and give this a shot, see if he would take to it without little to no effort on my part. Now, normally I would introduce a new food by giving him a tiny piece and either he eats it or he spits it out. Well, he spit this out. So I was thinking he didn't like it, but I decided to give it another shot and poured some in his food bowl.           He has literally been gobbling this stuff down for 3 days straight, no hesitation, and no food spit out on my floor. Maybe he was mad that I was trying to feed him adult dog food like he was a baby.

Chicken and Brown Rice- It is hard to believe I popped open a can of wet dog food and it actually smelled like what it said on the can. We all know that ''canned food" smell. That '' I can't believe I'm feeding this to my pets-it smells rotten" canned food smell. Crazy enough, this actually smelled like Chicken and Brown Rice! Dex absolutely loved it too!
Organic Beef- When I opened up this one I was surprised that it had the texture of, and smelled like canned tuna more than beef. The second that I picked the can up out of Dexter's box of treats, he knew instantly he was in for something awesome! On the way to the kitchen I was jumped on twice and tripped four times. I had to stop and remind Dex that if I didn't survive to open the can he wouldn't get to eat it, so he ran to his food bowl and stared at me around the corner waiting for me to put the food down in front of him. Luckily because it was more creamy than chunky, he kept it in the bowl and paced himself, and by pacing himself I mean he ate a quarter of the can and paused because he may have forgot to stop to breathe.

Peanut Butter Treats-These did not get nearly as much love from the Dexman as I would have liked, but that was more my fault than the fault of the treat. If Dexter has the option of a soft treat and a crunchy treat, he will repeated choose the soft treat over and over until there are no more soft treats. I made the mistake of giving Dex the snack sticks first, so he refused to eat these because he knew there were still snack sticks available. He's not stupid. After all the snack sticks were gone though he started eating these no problem and I love them because they are small enough that I don't have to break them apart into smaller pieces for him to not choke on them.

Newman's Own Organic Pet Food is definitely one of Dexter's favorite things right now! If he understood a rating system he would give it 4 paws up. He loves it because he thinks he is getting a treat, I love it because its actually GOOD for him and made with better ingredients than most products on the market.
If all of this sounds exciting to you then don't forget to enter for your chance to win Pet Sampler for either your cat or your dog! Just enter through the Rafflecopter below!

CardioTech Digital Blood Pressure Monitor by Ozeri

I am no stranger to having my blood pressure taken, mostly because we have always had a monitor, or a cuff of some kind in our household all the time. Somehow I managed to escape the high blood pressure monster, but it runs in the family.
Although I never truly understood what the numbers meant when I was younger, I was always just told "this is good" and "these numbers are bad".
Many trips to the doctors, and I always get a kick out of the look on their face when they try to figure out how my blood pressure is almost as close to perfect as it can possibly be, when so many people in my family have high blood pressure.
I recently found out I have a high pressure problem in my eyes, but it doesn't effect my blood pressure, but why should that mean I stop testing my blood pressure myself to make sure it's normal?
Now, The first time I pulled the CardioTech out of the box I was surprised at how awesome it was. The little zip up storage case fits everything nicely, and if you look, everything is labeled pretty well. The instruction booklet gives you all the information you need on your machine, how to use it and the cuff itself actually has a diagram on it of how to place it on your arm. If for any reason you couldn't read you could still figure out how to use this as it is incredibly easy. It's hard to believe it only takes four AA batteries.
After I assembled it, placed it on my arm, pushed the one touch power button and then the one touch start button it went to work. I have never been a fan of how tight these get on your arm, but it's necessary for a proper reading.
When the machine is done it shows your systolic, diastolic, and your pulse. Now the absolute best part about this is it is colour coded! So if your numbers are high the screen is colour coded to show you the numbers are bad. If you are prehypertension, the screen around those numbers are an orange/yellow and if you are in hypertension they are red. Red is very bad!
Funny story, I snapped the photo above after the first time I tested it and didn't even notice until about 3 days later that my numbers were almost identical to the ones on the front of the box.
Another great thing about the CardioTech is you can program it to recognize different users and can memorize up to 80 readings with a time-stamp and date on every single one of them!
The CardioTech could literally be a lifesaver in your own home and you don't even realize it. I can honestly say I will never live in a house without a blood pressure monitor, I'm glad to say I own this one.

Wet & Forget Shower Cleaner Review & Giveaway

Is there actually anyone on the planet that enjoys cleaning the bathroom? I know I don't. The second least favorite thing to clean besides the toilet, happens to be the shower. Many a time I have found myself bent over the edge of the tub with a scrub brush; inhaling fumes from some awful cleaner trying to get the tub clean. Who's with me? I can't be the only one here.
Anything that can help me make cleaning even a little easier is a fantastic option for me.
Now let's get really real for a minute here. Sometimes no matter how much I scrub my tub it NEVER looks clean. The previous tenets in my apartment had those no-slip sticky flowers on the basin and though they have been removed their annoying outline just stays... I have bleached and scrubbed and scrubbed and bleached and the bottom of our tub is NEVER the colour it is supposed to be.  So even with constant cleaning it always looks awful. So I figured, let's give one more product a shot. I tried out the Wet & Forget Shower spray, and let me tell you; MAN this stuff smells great! It's hard to believe that something that is vanilla scented could possibly be as deep cleaning as bleach is, but the Wet & Forget prevents the buildup of  mold and mildew, soap scum, grime and oils.
I did adjust the lighting on both photos.
My tub is actually tan/cream coloured not white ,
so take that into consideration when looking at the photos.
With only one deep cleaning in the past 3 weeks and with the use of the Wet and Forget, our shower doesn't look gross anymore which is pretty spectacular!
Though the outline of those horrible little flowers are still visible, the bottom of the tub looks brighter and so much better!
I absolutely love the spray bottle itself as well. It was super easy to assemble and it comes in handy. The bottle is large enough for many multiple uses, so it comes with a great extended hose attachment, and the nozzle snaps securely into the handle of the bottle. That is absolutely the neatest idea!
So now that I have to put forth little to no effort to make sure my shower stays clean, I have time for other things that are a lot more fun!
If you like what you see here then you are in luck! Wet & Forget has graciously offered my readers the opportunity to win their very own bottle of Wet & Forget Shower! Just follow the easy entry options on the Rafflecopter below and don't forget to check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube to stay connected!

FiveFingerTees Review

Sometimes you just need to dress down and be comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans, but who says that t-shirt needs to be boring?
FiveFingerTees has a huge selection of awesome screen printed t-shirts that you can customize however you want.
All of their shirts are made from 100% pre-shrunk cotton like the Hello Zombie T-shirt
You also have the option to choose the colour of your shirt and whether you want a men's or woman's style fit.
They have an amazing selection of shirts from zombie, to nerd, to movie, to music and everything in between. One of the things I love is if you see something, and you can't quite place it, they may have a little back story of the item on each page.
My Hello Zombie shirt was printed on an anvil tee with the tear away tags just in case you are annoyed by that kind of thing. They don't bother me that much but the option is nice. The shirt itself is very comfortable and I love the vibrant colour of the teal. I was more than excited when I seen the shade of the shirt in person as I wasn't expecting it to be this awesome!
The screen printing on the front feels like a high quality print with slightly raised texture and I stretched it to add stress to the print and there were no cracks or fractures immediately in the design. I hope the design stays this nice after many washes and wears; time will tell.

This is just a SMALL sampling of some of their more popular designs, all completely customizable. At $11.99 a shirt, that really is a steal! Follow them on Facebook and Twitter to stay in the loop!

Piczzle Photo Puzzle Review and Giveaway

Coupon code: LittleYllwBird21
21% discount on all prices.
Valid until: Wednesday, March 27, 201323:59

So, Guess what! It's Dexter's birthday today! And though I know he can't appreciate an awesome gift such as this one, I certainly do!
I love when I find the perfect gift, because it's not always easy. What do you get for the person who is hard to shop for? Well, since you can't put wrapping paper around memories, why not turn them into something functional and fun?

Growing up I used to do puzzles all the time with my mom and I was always terrible at them, but having a puzzle you can personalize sounds way better than a generic basket full of kittens.
Piczzle Photo Puzzles turns your pictures into puzzles, and gives you a way to put wrapping paper around memories.
I decided to commemorate Dexter's 3rd birthday, I would take my favorite photo of him looking awesome on a motorcycle and see what happened. I have this particular photo as my desktop background stretched to accommodate my 17 inch screen but every time I get this photo printed it always seems to come out looking way worse than it should, e.g., darker, grainy, hard to see his face.
I was pleasantly surprised, and somewhat giddy, when my puzzle arrived in the cutest box ever. It had the photo printed on the top of the box so you knew what puzzle was inside. The box itself was made with a sturdy cardboard, and the puzzle inside was inside a plastic zip-top bag.
I put the puzzle on the table and part of me panicked when I remembered I was terrible at puzzles. I chose a medium puzzle with 48 pieces which is an 8.5x11 size, and even though I look at this picture multiple times per day it still wasn't the easiest thing to complete. I am sad to say it took me nearly 45 minutes to complete it. It's okay to laugh, I'm laughing at myself.
Overall I am absolutely over the moon thrilled with the quality on the actual picture puzzle. Dexter is a hard dog to photograph with all that black fur, so, that you can see his eyes in the picture is insanely awesome!
Piczzle Photo Puzzles is offering my readers the chance to win their own small picture puzzle! Follow the easy entries through the Rafflecopter below to enter to win and don't forget to check out Piczzle Photo Puzzles on Facebook, and the Piczzle Photo Puzzles on Youtube!

CorsetChick Review and Giveaway

If you have ever wanted a great looking corset but didn't want to pay the huge price I have seen some of them go for then CorsetChick may be for you.
I have never pulled the trigger on picking myself up a nice corset, not just because of the price but because of the sizes as well.
Most websites don't come with plus size corsets in sizes above an extra large, but they carry corsets up to a 7-8XL.
I picked up the Black Gothic Corset because I absolutely love the lace trim detail. You can literally style them anyway you want, they don't have to be hidden under your clothes anymore, or left in the bedroom. Many use them as tops, or even for Rennaissance Faires or cosplay. I personally think this one would look great styled with a pencil skirt over a white button up or even with a large flowy skirt.
If you would prefer to purchase a corset dress for a party or make your own costume you can choose a corset top and a skirt separately.
If corsets aren't the only thing you are looking for; they also carry lingerie, hosiery, sleepwear, shapewear, Clubwear, shoes and boots and some other pretty amazing things!
What I love about the corsets from CorsetChick is each corset comes with a matching G-String Thong. I absolutely love the little lace and bow detail across the top of mine! This one in particular comes with 12 light-weight bones through-out, fully adjustable lacing up the back with matching ribbon through metal grommets, 14 inches in length with it cut shorter in the back for comfort, hook and eye closures up the front with 2 width settings, a slight sweetheart neckline; all with a black satin finish. I absolutely love the detailing on this corset!
The bow detail is perfectly placed at the bottom on the hip area and the ribbon tie on the front is non functioning but can be tied and untied if you wish. The lacing up the back opens up a lot to accommodate various sizes so you can tighten it as you go or let it out if you need to. I would have to say this was the perfect pick for me!
Now it's my turn to find out what the perfect pick for you is! CorsetChick has graciously allowed me to choose one winner to pick any corset they like up to $30 for free! Just enter through the Rafflecopter below!

Newman's Own Organics Review and Giveaway

If you have been paying attention you know I am a total snacker! I am always on the quest for finding the next greatest thing that also happens to be better than the average snack.
The second most important thing is looking for a product from a brand you know and love. Newman's Own Organics was established in 1993 as a division of Newman's Own.
The sale of Newman's Own Organics products generates money for the Newman's Own Foundation to give away. Since 1982 Paul Newman and the Newman's Own Foundation have donated more than $350 million dollars to educational and charitable organizations worldwide.*
Founded by Nell Newman and Peter Meehan, Newman's Own Organic's became it's own company in 2001. The two companies have two separate lines of products and I had the opportunity to try some of literally the best organic snacks I have ever had the chance to try!

Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies- This was the first thing I decided to try out. I am a huge fan of orange flavored anything so this sounded right up my alley. Instantly upon opening the bag, I am hit with the most amazing scent. They smell delicious! I was finding it hard to believe anything about these were even slightly better for me than any other chocolate chip cookie on the market. I am not normally a crunchy cookie person but these are literally the greatest thing I have ever had. I love that they are smaller than normal cookies so they are more bite sized but I dare you to try not to eat the entire bag in one sitting!
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies- I think I am officially a fan of the Newman's Own Organic Cookies! The oatmeal cookies were very similar to the Orange Chocolate Chip in texture, but the oatmeal flavor of these are subtle but still pretty spectacular! I can't get enough of these tiny cookies.
Vanilla- A classic vanilla biscuit cookie, these are the perfect snack. Not only are these just a great, simple cookie, they are also absolutely adorable! Shaped like little alphabet blocks, I'm sure they would be a total hit with the kids!

Dark Chocolate Caramel cups- I really liked these! I am continuously surprised with everything I try and I love that the dark chocolate isn't overly bitter. I also appreciate that the chocolate is a firmer texture so it has a little bit of a bite.
Milk Chocolate Caramel cups- A lovely milk chocolate version of the ones I had previously are just as delicious! If you are more of a fan of the milk chocolate than the dark chocolate maybe these are more up your alley, but both are just as awesome!
Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cups- These taste exactly how you think they taste, but better! I am a huge fan of the popular York brand that has been around for years but their ratio of peppermint to chocolate was never quite right. These on the other hand are the perfect blend without one flavor being stronger than the other which makes these one of the top contenders in my favorites category!
Peanut Butter Cups- I think it's official, Newman's Own Organics has managed to produce the best dark chocolate I've ever had. I don't think I can get enough of this stuff!  I love the balance of the chocolate and peanut butter, it doesn't have that overly sweetened fake peanut butter taste that most candy bars have adopted. The dark chocolate is just amazing and I don't even know what to say anymore. It's just perfection.
Apricots- I can honestly say, I don't believe I've ever had a dried apricot before. These were less dry than I expected though. With a great chewy texture and sweet apricot flavor they weren't overly sweet or overly bitter. I think these would be great mixed in some yogurt or on top of some cereal or something. Unless you are a purist, and prefer to eat them as they are!
Prunes- I know what you are thinking, that's for old people! I've actually tried several different brands of prunes before and they are always overly sweet or have a weird after taste. I was surprised to find out that these are soft, chewy, lightly sweet, and actually quite delicious! Not at all what you thought you would get from a prune!
Hermits- I was NOT expecting what I pulled out of the package with these cookies! A soft chewy molasses cookie with raisins, these are absolutely delicious. Definitely a cookie for the grown up who loves their cookies soft and their molasses sweet! And the packaging disclaimer on the back is adorable as well! "No hermits were harmed, mistreated, pestered or annoyed in the making of these cookies!"
Ginger O's- Literally the most interesting cream filled cookie I have ever eaten, and probably the best! You are almost fooled, thinking they will be a vanilla cookie and then a light ginger flavor comes almost out of nowhere and it's amazing! Dexter wouldn't stop stealing side glances, and jumping at crumbs. Definitely a top favorite!
Newman O's- I really liked these. I enjoyed that they were a great combination of chocolate cookie and peanut butter cream.

Pop's Corn- Popcorn is literally one of my favorite snacks. It is great when you are watching a movie. I have grown to prefer popcorn made on the stove over microwave popcorn, but sometimes you just need convenience. most microwave popcorns have a weird grease factor that you can't seem to get rid of but I really like that Pop's Corn is light and isn't overloaded with that weird neon grease.
Mocha Milk Chocolate- I'm about to throw down some truth here. I don't know if you are ready for it, but here goes. I HATE coffee! I don't like the smell, the taste, I don't like flavored coffees or anything like that. So seeing this made me a little sad, but I pushed on. The smell of this candy bar is pretty offensive as it straight up smelled like coffee when I opened the wrapper, but I went against every fiber of my being. My nostrils screamed in protest as I took a bite and I was waiting for that horrible coffee flavor to hit me. You can imagine my surprise when I realized that beyond the smell of the coffee in this bar, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually liked this candy bar. It wasn't bitter, or overly coffee saturated flavor-wise. There was still a slight coffee aftertaste but it was manageable. The chocolate itself was creamy and just sweet enough with a distinct high quality milk chocolate flavor. It was definitely worth trying!
Dark Chocolate- I will say about this as I have said about all the other dark chocolate I've had, it's amazing. Not too bitter, not to sweet, it's a great balance with an amazing rich decadent texture that just melts in your mouth. Why haven't you bought some yet?!

Honey Wheat minis- A classic snack with a great pun intended. These pretzels are a crunchier texture, which I actually prefer. I have honestly never tasted a pretzel like this before. I have tried other honey wheat brands but they are either too wheat or too honey and sometimes they are just too bland. These pretzels are amazing! They are the perfect blend of salt and sweet and I bet you would find it hard to eat just one!
Unsalted Pretzel Rounds-  Not only do these have the most adorable shape (N), they are the perfect snack for pretzel dippers! I am notorious for disliking a ton of salt on anything I eat so I loved that these still had that great buttery pretzel flavor. They are definitely a more sturdy pretzel which means they were meant just for me. I love using pretzels to dip in cream cheese or cheese sauce. There really is nothing better than a good pretzel snack.
Wintergreen Mints- These mints are AWESOME! I am normally not a wintergreen person because they tend to be way too strong for me and it blasts my taste buds but I absolutely loved these. They have a great wintergreen flavor and are perfectly sweetened. They leave your mouth feeling cool and fresh. Dexter apparently liked them too as he managed to get a hold of one that got away and refused to give it up.
Peppermints- If you are looking for a mint that really makes your breath fresh these would be the ones! These mints are a great peppermint flavor and are literally the perfect breath mint. These things really clear out the sinuses and sometimes that is perfect when you really need the extra boost!

Is your mouth watering yet? Well, I hope so, because Newman's Own Organics was gracious enough to allow me to choose FOUR of MY favorite items to hold a giveaway for YOU!  You have the chance to win: Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies, Ginger-O's Creme Cookies, Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Cups, and the Mocha Milk Chocolate Bar! a Rafflecopter giveaway

nuNAAT Brazillian Keratin Products Review

Finding the right products for your hair sometimes can be really tough. I have a hard time with dryness from over processing, as well as just general damage control from my hair being almost 3 feet long. The longer your hair is the older your hair is and that means the ends of your hair have aged to a point where it is unhealthy. One of the best things you can do for your hair is to add moisture and replace the keratin that can be lost due to heat styling, age, product buildup, and general day to day life on your hair.
What is keratin? Keratin is the key structural component of hair, skin and nails. If you replace the keratin that may have been lost over time it can repair your hair and make it stronger.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly
The NAAT Brazilian Keratin line is intended for dry, coarse hair. I went in to this knowing this line wasn't colour safe and I made peace with that. Sadly it did strip my hair of more colour than I EVER expected it to. My shower looked like I murdered a pink cupcake as it rinsed from my hair like I was freshly dying it.
I have a lot of hair but for some reason I went through nearly half a bottle trying to get the shampoo to coat my hair as it didn't lather very well and had a weird runny/slimy texture that would slide right off my hair before it would give me the chance to work it in to my hair. The more I worked it in though, the less dye I had on my head.
The conditioner was something else. I noticed the texture was a little creamier and I was hoping that it would be the redeeming factor of the set and I poured some in my hand and made the mistake of bending over it. I unfortunately did this three times before I realized the conditioner was literally putting off fumes so strong it was burning my eyes. I am not sure if this was an issue amplified by my eye condition, but it literally hurt so much I actually screamed. I can only imagine what the neighbors though.
After applying nearly a quarter of the bottle of conditioner I still ended up with mats and knots in my hair. I always brush my hair out before I wash it, because it is so dry it instantly knots up. So maybe it wasn't the most moisturizing of conditioners.
The leave in reconstructor though, this stuff was really nice. With a texture almost like water with a little oil mixed in I applied it to my hair. Although it said to apply to the roots I decided to skip the roots and apply from the ends of my hair up to about an inch from the roots. I loved how it instantly softened my hair and I can honestly say I don't think I have seen a single product put as much curl into my hair as this leave in conditioner did. I wish my hair stayed curly when it was dry because it was insane!
You can see in the before (right) to the after (left) the difference in my hair. My hair doesn't look as good as I would have hoped it would. It doesn't even feel better than I hoped it would. You can see a small patch in the before picture on the left side near my fingers where the fading started from previous washes but it wiped a lot of the colour out of my hair in the after. Just keep in mind not all results are the same as it would be on all hair types but be warned if you have any kind of dye in your hair that you would prefer to keep in place.

safeHands® and safeSquirts® Alcohol Free Hand Sanitizer Review

What is the one biggest issue I personally have with hand sanitizer? DRYNESS! I have really dry skin that happens to get worse when the weather gets colder and adding an alcohol based hand sanitizer to my hands just makes it worse.
Sometimes convenience trumps being comfortable when it comes to using hand sanitizer for me, because during the times when you can't get to a sink to wash your hands you still need something to keep them clean.
safeHands® began as a dream until founder, Dr. Jay Reubens, gathered a team of experts to develop a non-toxic, safe alternative to mainstream alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Dr. Jay's goal was to ensure the product not only kill over 99.99% of germs - but also the gel help soothe, nourish and preserve the natural oils in skin. It dawned on Dr. Jay, as he successfully tested the product with his friends and family, that it was time to start a mission and “safe” the world one hand at a time, with a goal of educating people all over the world to the dangers of using alcohol-based hand sanitizers.*
safeSquirts®  come in fun colours and scents for the kids and the kids at heart and provide the same protection, moisturize just as much and kill just as many germs as the safeHands® for adults!
Out of all the scents available I would have to say the safeHands in Clean Linen and the safeSquirts in TootyFruity are my favorites! The safeSquirts also come in Cool Blue and Bubble Gum and the safeHands also come in Cucumber Mint and an unscented version.
When I first tried them out it took about 2 pumps to get the air out and then one full pump was PLENTY. I love the foam texture but as soon as it hits skin it slowly starts to become more liquid which is kind of neat. I have very sore dry patches on my hands and it was awesome to not have those feel like someone lit my skin on fire. The sanitizer worked into my skin effortlessly and with a couple seconds of dry time I was ready to go again. There were no obnoxious fumes from alcohol, or weird scent left on my skin. Just a nice light scent, nothing too overpowering. If you really think about it, would you rather your hands smell lightly like the scent you applied or would you rather they smell like alcohol? I think I found my new favorite hand sanitizer!
If you find that the foam hand sanitizer isn't your thing you can also check out their website for when their safeHands SafeWipes go on sale in the scent Cool as a Cucumber. Also their ZenHands Aromatherapy, safeTronics electronics sanitizer, and safePaws Paw sanitizer wipes! I think I am definitely looking forward to those!
With so many new and exciting things on the horizon and so many exciting things currently available, why haven't you made the switch yet?!
