Wellness Wellbites Treats from Chewy.com

I think it goes without saying that my dog is pretty spoiled. He goes through treats faster than I can replace them sometimes. It's not even just from me either, he has a system where he has worked over the neighbors to join in on the treat-scapade. This dog is very calculated and very bold. The only thing I can do to make sure that he doesn't need to be rolled across the grass to go potty is to make sure that when I give him treats, I give him ones that are good for him. Keeping to this has lead to him never becoming overweight which is a miracle.

The past 2 weeks I have had Dex testing (and by testing I mean devouring) the Wellness WellBites from Chewy. First and foremost the passed the test on texture. They are a soft, meaty square that are the perfect size and have a consistency of very soft jerky. Speaking of jerky that is pretty much what they smell like, and it is actually quite pleasant. No overly gross process "dog food jerky" smell like you get from some treats that is almost a chemical scent.
The WellBites  packaging boasts that it's made with whole fruits, and veggies. I have the Beef & Turkey Recipe. I love that it says "For Good Dogs" on the front. It made me chuckle only because I told Dexter it was for good dogs so he couldn't have it seconds before he immediately snatched the first one out of my hand.
You know a treat or food is good for your dog when you read the ingredients and they are listed as: Beef, Turkey, Ground Brown Rice, Oatmeal.. etc. I like that it also consists of sweet potatoes, carrots, blueberries, flaxseed, and apples. Dexter loves everything about them and I love that he eats them and doesn't bury slobber covered treats in my laundry basket.
Out of everything that is fantastic about these treats though; I love what you get the most. Typically when you buy a bag of treats, for me anyway, you pay a high price for quality but they don't last very long because there aren't that many in the bag. Though this is an 8 ounce bag I am very surprised it has lasted this long! Dexter is pretty good about polishing off a bag of treats in less than a week but after two weeks we are only about halfway through the bag! He never gets just one either.
I think this is going to be a household favorite for the little man for a while and  I am okay with that! If you like what you have seen and want the chance to win a gift card to pick up some of your own or something else be sure to enter through the rafflecopter below!

AnytimeCostumes.com Pet Costumes Review

Allow me to take a few moments of your time to tell you about the best costume decision of my lifetime. Coincidentally you have the option of making this same awesome decision as well.
With Halloween right around the corner it is time to really try to think hard about what you and your loved ones will want to be. The scramble to then find said costumes in a short amount of time can either be a fun process or a nightmare depending on how elaborate the costume will be. I love taking this time to really makes some people laugh by parading Dexter around in some silly get-ups just for the fun reactions. He is already a funny looking dog (in a handsome way!), but adding a layer of costume to that just really brings it home.
With a wonderful costume selection in his repertoire such as: the hotdog, Yoda, a bumble bee, a french maid, and a skeleton, I knew I would have to step up my game this time. As I was perusing the Anytime Costumes website for something that caught my eye I landed on this one.
The Animal Planet Stegosaurus Dog Costume was just a two piece costume with a hood and body and the dog wearing it in the photo made it look like it would just be a silly thing that would look good on him. I was right, but I was also VERY WRONG. It didn't just look good on him, it looked HILARIOUS on him.
After reading the reviews and checking for sizes I realized that the small would be the best fit size-wise. Dexter is 15lbs but he has a 12'' length from shoulder to tail, a 14'' neck and an 18-19'' chest, so he is a pretty small dog. The size rating for the small costume stated Chihuahuas but I think only if they have long legs and are generally pretty big. This may fit a small poodle or a really small pug or shih-tzu like Dexter. If your dog is any longer than Dex or has a bigger neck than Dex it won't fit, go up a size. There was still room in the belly though in case he turns into a little sausage roll. Though with Dexter's curly-q tail it has placement issues on his little bum.
The hood was oddly too large. Not too large size-wise but too large for Dexter's head. I had to fold down the bottom of the hood about an inch and a half to two inches so it didn't cover his eyes and then it was the perfect fit!
After assembling both pieces on my now tiny dinosaur, he just stood there for a moment very confused. I stood up and walked away to get the camera battery and heard him shuffling toward me, as I turned around he stopped. I turned away from him again and heard more shuffling and as I turned around he stopped. I turned away from him again and heard more shuffling and as I turned around he stopped. This continued about three more times until he made it to the center of the room and he was standing right behind me and by this time I was laughing hysterically at how adorable it was. After I took a few photos I put him on a leash and took him around to the neighbors and it was adorable watching him shuffle around. The absolute best part about this costume on him; is when he is wearing it he no longer resembles a dog.
I felt like my childhood dreams had finally become a reality and I finally had my very own pet dinosaur! Ever since I have had this costume in my possession I find myself singing that horribly cheesy song "Walk the Dinosaur" by Was ( Not Was). Go ahead and laugh because it's pretty ridiculous.
There is nothing about this decision I regret and if I could I would own a fleet of tiny dogs and make them all wear these costumes at the same time and then I would play the Jurassic Park theme just because it would be epic.
If you are at a loss for a great costume, at least for your pet I would have to highly recommend this one for the fun factor! I am pretty sure I will get a kick out of this one for years to come!
